Today is World Braille Day where we celebrate awareness of the importance of braille as a means of communication in the full realization of the human rights for blind and visually impaired people.

At AlFitrah Foundation Braille Quran Initiative we gave Braille books and pocket Braille sets today to Tina and Tika two visually impaired girls who work next to our office, and Abian and his wife Rashidah, and Ismail who is planning to go for his umrah and wanted the guide to Haj and Umrah in Braille.

Alhamdulillah we sponsored 700 Iqra' books to the Unit Agama of Kamunting Correctional Centre, under the Malaysian Prison Service for the detainees for their program of learning to read the Quran.

Here are representatives from the book publisher Galeri Umrahajj delivering the books to the Centre. Jazakillah khairan to sister Ida Hariati Hashim for arranging this.

Alhamdulillah we carried out Qurban of one cow for Eid il Adha and distributed the meat to 90 families . We also took a portion of the meat and had lunch at our office for the staff as well as some elderly members of the AFitrah Quran class for the blind.

Alhamdulillah we did Qurban of one cow for Dar alQuran in Gaza and the meat distributed to the blind students at the centre for memorising Quran.
