Al Fitrah Foundation continues to assist families requiring funds to purchase food and other necessities via its food voucher program. This year, the contribution amount has been raised in order to help lift the financial burden faced by the families.
The monthly program, which is in its 3rd year, has helped over one hundred displaced families from Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, Sudan, Somalia, Rohingya and Yemen, living in Malaysia.
Depending on the size and needs of the families, the vouchers that range from RM50 to RM200, are allocated for each household.
Many rely on the food vouchers. They include the sickly, single parents and large families selected from a list created by each community lead. The families can only be on the list for a maximum of 6 months to allow others a chance to benefit from the program.
