Al Fitrah Foundation’s latest initiative is to help support the refugee community in the Seri Kembangan area in Kuala Lumpur by contributing for the cost of setting up Klinik Pergigian Amal Muhajir.
By funding this clinic, we hope to help provide the best dental care for the nearby refugee community hopefully help ease some burden for families or individuals receiving assistance.
The clinic started operations last month and is currently serving patients, on weekends. It provides dental care including check-ups. Once the clinic has purchased a dental X-ray equipment, more complex procedures like root canals can be performed.
Refugees cannot afford dental care, if they to government clinics, they would need to pay too. So, the refugee dental clinic provides affordable dental treatment for a minimal fee.
Al Fitrah Foundation’s founder and trustee, Puan Sri Norma Hashim paid a visit to the clinic on Saturday, 4th of February 2023. She mingled with some of the patients and met with two dentists - Doctors Dira and Redzuan.
A group of diverse and multi-lingual volunteers and staff, who spoke Arabic, Rohingya, Afghan and Somali, were busy attending to the patients. The friendly and warm atmosphere made the patients feel at ease.
