Alfitrah Foundation went to the weekly Kelab Rabu ( Wednesday Club) for visually impaired people at MAB in Brickfields to hand over 60 white canes to elderly blind folk.
The centre has requested for more white canes for new trainees at their training centre so if you want to donate , the cost is RM25 each ( USD6) and payment details are at www.alfitrah.net
IBQS has had a booth at Astech Book and Culture fair in Rheinberg, Germany. Astec Book and Culture fair has been receiving hundreds of thousands visitors every year and pmany organizations like publishers, relief organizations promotes their activities at the exhibition.
IBQS has had a booth to introduce Braille Quran and produced public awareness on the religious needs of persons with visual impairments.
During exhibition, IBQS has also carried out a conference with the title:
reconsidering the disability under the light of Holy Quran and Sunnah by Selahattin Aydin. Blind reciters Mr. Ertugrul Yilmaz and Adem Yilmaz have offered recitation from the Braille Mushaf.
KUALA LUMPUR: A daughter of a visually impaired couple is now a step closer to achieving her dream of becoming an eye doctor to help others in the same plight.
“My mum and dad can’t see, so I would like to become an eye doctor to help others who need eye treatment,” said Aliah Maisarah Md Akir, 13, who scored six A’s in the UPSR.
