Congratulations brother Amer on winning Silver for the Group Standard and Bronze for the Group Rapid Chess categories at the 21st Para Sukma Games from 22 to 28 September 2024 in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.
The national multi-sport event is held every two years for people with disabilities to compete.
Brother Amer represented the Perak State in the Chess category and according to him, this year the competition from other states, especially Johor and Negeri Sembilan, was tougher.
"I feel very happy because the competition this time is much stronger than in previous years. Since joining the team, I attended the fixed weekly online training, as well as the periodic training at a centre in Perak.
Apart from the training, the backing given by my teammates, family and office mates encouraged me to be more enthusiastic to bring home the medal. I wish to thank the Management of Al Fitrah Foundation for their support too. Inshaa Allah at the 2026 Para Sukma in Selangor, I will do better," said the determined brother Amer.
