TEAM ACTIVITY – CYCLING AT LAKE TITIWANGSA

Yesterday, 13th August, our team went cycling at a lake near the office at 8:15am. It was a beautiful start to the day. Everyone had a good exercise, lots of fun and laughter.

Below are some of their comments about the outing.

Majid: Thanks to Al Fitrah Foundation for giving us (the visually challenged employees) this meaningful opportunity. We rarely get the chance to cycle. So, yesterday’s outing was rather special. After cycling I felt relaxed, probably because of the higher levels of dopamine hormone in the blood. I was able to explore the park with the help given by my fellow colleagues and sighted cyclists, Sisters Aida and Nani.

Mike: When I was little, I used to ride a bicycle with four wheels. Pedalling the tandem bicycle together with my colleagues was a first-time experience, and it was great. I could feel the calm atmosphere around Lake Titiwangsa. I'm sure it's beautiful. The road was quite challenging because we had to go up and down the hill, but we managed it well. The activity brought us closer together as a team.

Amer: The tandem cycling experience made me feel energetic and relaxed - free from work stress and fatigue. In addition, this kind of activity helps those with vision problems gather new experiences with the help of the sighted. I hope that such activities will continue in the future, and we will be going to other places as well.

The Support Team

Hilman: It’s always great fun to have outdoor office activities,  especially when it involves some form of exercise. Having access to tandem bikes is also convenient because the staff can still enjoy riding around while being safe. Whilst riding around with Mike, Majid and Amer, I described  to them the surrounding environment as we rode by. There was a horse-riding field, where people were learning to ride and a police horse-riding training facility cum shooting range.

Hanani: Alhamdulillah! Who would have thought that such activities would be so much fun. I was overjoyed to see my friends enjoying their cycling. Although my body ached afterwards, I am pleased to have been able to cycle with them. We can’t wait for the next outdoor excursion!
