Tuesday, 20th September 2022. Brother Mohammed Lamine and a friend visited Al Fitrah Foundation and bought a set of braille Quran before leaving for Mali the following day. He will present it to a leader at a centre in Mali.
Brother Majid from the editorial team, showed the guests a copy of the braille Quran and read out a few verses. Then, they discussed Al Fitrah Foundation’s programmes for the visually impaired in Malaysia and internationally.
Brother Majid also explained other initiatives such as educational programmes in schools, medical aid for refugees and the Food Bank.
Brother Mohammed promised to keep in touch and inshaa Allah will confirm the number of braille Qurans required by the visually impaired communities in Mali and other parts of Africa.
Al Fitrah Foundation is looking to work with similar organisations to reach poor visually impaired brothers and sisters in Africa needing braille Qurans. It has undoubtedly been quite a challenge to reach them due to the expensive logistics. Hopefully, by working with more partners with reach in Africa, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and other parts of the world, our brothers and sisters in Islam would be able to secure their copies of the braille Quran. Inshaa Allah.
