Early this year, Al Fitrah Foundation sponsored one set of the Braille Quran and other literature to BJ, a sister in the US. She is new to Islam; observed her first Ramadan and celebrated Eid this year, Alhamdulillah.
Being the only Muslim in the family, it is a blessing to have a supportive mother and outside encouragement through an Islamic organisation – consisting of sisters and brothers in Islam. Being able to stay connected, share experiences, challenges and learn from each other, has helped in her journey, thus far.
After familiarising herself with Islam, learning the holy Quran, reading the materials, and consulting with her Ustazah (religious teacher), sister BJ requested more books to expand her knowledge.
On 27 May 2022, she received the following books from Al Fitrah Foundation.
- GUIDE TO SALAT – WITH DIAGRAMS
- WHY ISLAM?
- COMMON QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK ABOUT ISLAM
- WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT MUHAMMAD PBUH
- QUR'AANIC BRAILLE PRIMER
The newly improved Guide to Salat now has diagrams accompanying the content to assist the visually impaired to understand the various steps on performing one of the most important pillars of Islam. This comprehensive, step-by-step guide would in sha Allah make it easier for beginners to understand everything related to Salat.
BJ also wants to be equipped with enough knowledge to help answer questions relating to Islam from her family and friends, should the need arise. We wish sister BJ an invaluable learning experience and may her passion be rewarding and enriching. Aamiin.
