Alhamdulillah, we are in the last ten nights of Ramadan and are doing our utmost to increase our ibadah, with all honesty and steadfastness in the hope to attain Allah’s blessings and seek His forgiveness.
We seek Laylat al Qadr (لیلة القدر) – “The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months.”(Surah Al-Qadr 97:3) – and may we all achieve it, Aamiin.
Braille Quran and Islamic Literature
Al Fitrah has also been looking at the things we have done for the visually impaired and the less fortunate in the first quarter of 2022. Alhamdulillah, we have been able to dispatch Braille Qurans and Islamic books to our brothers and sisters in Canada, the US, the UK, Singapore, India, Iraq, and Australia. In shaa Allah we will continue to do more.
Thank you to our generous donors far and near for contributing to this cause, to assist the visually impaired to access the Holy Quran and other Islamic texts through Braille publications and other means.
We hope more contributors will come forward to support us by donating towards shipping costs too so more Braille Qurans and Islamic books can reach further less fortunate visually impaired brothers and sisters in remote areas as well as urban surroundings. In the past, we were able to ship the items (in boxes) via sea mail for free. Unfortunately, this service has since been discontinued following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Initiatives – Essentials, Food Packages, and Gift Vouchers
In addition, Al Fitrah also partnered with other non-profit organisations to aid flood victims in the east coast of Malaysia that were badly affected; some of whom had lost their homes by providing essentials and food packages to offer some relief to the families.
Food packages were also distributed to low-income families, individuals located in different parts of Malaysia as well as refugees stationed in Kuala Lumpur.
During Ramadan, efforts have been doubled to ensure needy families receive daily essentials or grocery vouchers to enable them to purchase specific items they require.
Education
Al Fitrah supports Islamic schools, private institutions, and individuals by providing funds, sponsoring teachers, and creating programs for Islamic studies, when required. On case-to-case basis, Al Fitrah pays for the education of promising students whose parents cannot afford the school fees.
Eid Al-Fitr
With the holy month of Ramadan ending, we would like to wish everyone a meaningful Eid al-Fitr. To our brothers and sisters facing adversities and challenges beyond our imagination, may they find strength in their struggles and may Allah reward them for their patience in the face of adversity. Aamiin. They remain in our dua’s.
