Braille Quran Studies at Iqraa Organization

Al Fitrah Foundation collaborated with Iqraa Organization رێکخراوی اقرأ :: Iqraa Organization in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq by contributing braille Quran and Primers to the center for their visually impaired students studying there. A presentation ceremony was held on 9 April 2022 to acknowledge the occasion.

 

This is the first time Iqraa Organization is receiving Islamic braille literature and arrangements are being made for teachers to start learning the braille Primer. To read the braille Quran, which is in Arabic, reciters must begin with the Primer. After mastering it, they will then teach the students.

 

There are ten young visually impaired students (between 5 -10 years old) who have been memorizing the Quran through listening and reading out loud. Studying Arabic braille would provide them another way of learning, reciting, and understanding the Quran.

 

We were informed that the young students were waiting eagerly for the books to arrive. One of them was Eyano Arsalan and during the ceremony she sent a heartfelt message to everyone involved. Here is her message,

‘Asalamu alaykum Brothers and Sisters.

Thanks, Al Fitrah Foundation for the donation of the Quran braille, I have memorized 5 Juz of the Quran.

Now with your donation, I can memorize Quran more easily.
