EXPANDING ACCESS: PRINTING BRAILLE QURANS IN KAZAKHSTAN

In Kazakhstan, there is growing demand for Braille Qurans, especially among visually impaired students who have completed their Braille Primer studies. Guided by Brother Askar from Semey City, these students—along with sighted learners—are now ready to study the Quran, and many are teaching others in their communities.

To meet this demand, efforts are underway to print Braille Qurans locally using the Index DV 5 Embosser, provided by the Al Fitrah Foundation. Production will begin soon to fulfill the increasing number of orders. Brother Askar, who trained with Al Fitrah’s Editorial and Production team, has already printed and distributed over fifty Braille Primers.

The Al Fitrah Foundation is proud to empower local teams with the tools to print Braille Primers and Qurans domestically. This decade-long partnership continues to play a key role in expanding access to Braille Qurans across Kazakhstan.
