Doctors restore vision to 121yo man, who’s happy ‘to read Koran again’

One of the oldest people on the planet, 121-year-old Appaz Iliyev from the Russian republic of Ingushetia, has got his sight back thanks to a successful surgery. Born in 1896, the man still works daily in his garden in the North Caucasus mountains.

The surgery on one of the oldest people alive was performed by doctors at a regional hospital in Ingushetia, Russian media reported Saturday citing local authorities. Iliyev, who had been suffering from cataracts, spent only one day at the hospital before returning to his village high in the mountains. At this stage, one of his eyes was treated, with specialists predicting a full sight recovery for their special patient, TASS reported.

Dias, he's 10 years old from Aktau in West Kazakhstan

This is Dias, he's 10 years old from Aktau in West Kazakhstan and has been learning Arabic braille from Askar Sakhirov. He has completed the Quraanic primer as well as Juz 30 of the Quran so we rewarded him with his own set of the Braille Quran.

Recently he started attending a new school in his home town.

His ambition is to be a Hafiz of the Quran as well as an Olympic champion in wrestling

Our braille Qurans continue to reach the blind all over the world

Alhamdulillah Alhamdulillah our braille Qurans continue to reach the blind all over the world, may Allah bless all donors and the Malaysian postal workers who help us deliver our braille materials for free.

In the photos are the 10 Qurans donated by a Malaysian brother to the Waqf Foundation for Quran memorization in Lebanon, as well as a braille Quran donated by a sister in Singapore for Salman in Karachi, Pakistan.
